INSTRUCTIONS:
To Use Liquid Patina as a Top Coat:
1. Allow DIY Paint to dry for 24 hours to ensure it is set before applying DIY Liquid Patina.
2. Pour a small amount directly onto your dry surface, and use a rag, sponge, or paintbrush to apply an even coat to the entire surface working in small sections at a time. Working in small sections will prevent the patina from drying too quickly and appearing patchy.
4. Send a picture of your beautiful finished piece to the Weeping Mermaid to be shared and adored!
To Use Liquid Patina to give Age to Specific Areas:
1. Begin by coating your piece in Crystal Clear Chandelier Liquid Patina using the steps above.
Unsealed clay paint can be very porous. If you begin with a color other than clear the paint will soak up the patina and there can be little control over where the patina is absorbed.
2. Pour a small amount directly onto your dry surface, and use a rag, sponge, or paintbrush to apply the patina to the specific areas you want to show age. Rub in the patina and wipe away any excess with a clean rag.
3. If needed, you can apply an overall second coat of clear patina over the piece to minimize brush strokes.
4. Send a picture of your beautiful finished piece to the Weeping Mermaid to be shared and adored!
